Careers @ The Data Analytics Institute
Role: Operations Data Analyst
About The Data Analytics Institute (TDAI)
The Data Analytics Institute (TDAI) is a Sydney-based edtech organisation on a mission to upskill Australians in Data Analytics and AI for the modern job market. We run hands-on training programmes that turn career switchers, graduates and upskillers into job-ready analysts and AI practitioners and we run our own operations the same way we teach: with clean data, honest reporting, and a bias for action.
Role Overview
As our Operations Data Analyst, you won't sit in one function and watch the same dashboard for months. You'll rotate through four core parts of the business: marketing, student outcomes, finance, and the automation layer that ties it all together, sitting with each team, learning how their numbers are actually made, and turning that into reporting the business genuinely acts on. It's a role built for someone who wants to understand how a real organisation runs end to end, not just how to write a query.
Your Rotations
Social Media Marketing Channel and content performance across Meta, LinkedIn and Instagram — helping the team understand what's working and where to invest next.
Student Survey Analytics Course progress, completion and learner outcomes across TDAI's programmes — turning survey and course data into insight on how well we're delivering for students.
Finance Data Analytics Reporting on revenue, spend and the unit economics behind each cohort — giving the business a clear read on what's driving performance.
Automation & AI Workflows The dashboards, models and pipelines the other three rotations run on — building and maintaining the automation and AI-driven workflows that keep TDAI's reporting current and reliable.
What You'll Do
Build reporting the business uses Turn raw data from each rotation into dashboards and reports that function leads and the Operations Lead can act on directly.
Work across real data sources Pull and reconcile data from Excel/CSV, Google Sheets and GCP, and present it clearly through Looker.
Support marketing, learning and finance functions Sit with each team during your rotation, understand how they generate and use data, and deliver the analysis that matters most to them that quarter.
Contribute to automation and AI workflows Help build and maintain the pipelines and models that keep dashboards and reporting running with minimal manual effort.
Own your work end to end Take responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of your reporting — attention to detail matters, because your work has direct impact on business decisions.
Expectations & Work Culture
Weekly 1-hour check-ins to review progress and priorities.
Microsoft Teams for day-to-day communication outside of the weekly check-in.
Your work will have direct impact on the business and its strategy — attention to detail is vital.
We expect ownership and reliability; delinquency will not be tolerated.
In return, you get a supportive and respectful environment where mistakes are okay — just ask for help early.
What Success Looks Like
Each function you rotate through has reporting that's more accurate, more current, or easier to act on than before you arrived.
Dashboards and pipelines you build or improve keep running reliably after your rotation ends.
You leave each rotation with a concrete grasp of how that part of the business turns data into decisions.
